A Gathering of Minds: Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Summit Hits Los Angeles
The iconic 90210 zip code, synonymous with luxury and celebrity, recently provided the perfect backdrop for the year's second Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Summit. Following the success of last month's Miami Summit, this exclusive event brought together about 250 Global Luxury leaders and luminaries from New York to Paris for a glamorous two-day affair of networking, knowledge sharing, and 2025 strategy discussions.
Day one of the summit kicked off with three exclusive property tours presented by luxury all-stars Jade Mills, Joyce Rey, and Christophe Choo, and culminated in an opening reception at the ever-elegant Four Seasons Hotel on Doheny Drive.
Day two started with a morning general session featuring thought-provoking discussions on market trends, expert insights, and the evolving landscape of luxury. Michael Altneu, Vice President of Global Luxury for Coldwell Banker gave opening remarks and Coldwell Banker’s new Vice President of Marketing, Brandon Newman, presented his vision for luxury and how he'll draw on his experience at Aston Martin.
Kamini Lane, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker Realty, and Jason Waugh, president of Coldwell Banker Affiliates, shared their key market takeaways, including some positive end-of-year stats for the luxury real estate sector.
Many attendees were captivated by NAR Deputy Chief Economist and Vice President of Research Dr. Jessica Lautz's wide-ranging presentation on current market trends. Her insightful and entertaining talk covered everything from inventory levels to increasing all-cash purchases, the rebound of cities, the rising median age of buyers, the expected "silver tsunami" wealth transfer to young adults, Gen X and their propensity for purchasing multi-generational homes, the influence of single women in the market, and more.
Coldwell Banker Regional President of the Southeast Region Duff Rubin's "Fireside Chat" with Mickey Alam Khan, CEO of Luxury Roundtable, was another highlight for Luxury Property Specialists who wanted to gain current insights on high-end consumer trends outside of real estate. As one attendee noted, "I found tremendous value in Mr. Khan's time on stage and felt he touched on something not many others did: quiet luxury. His talk was a great reminder to recalibrate, open your mind, stay authentic in our world of façades and noise, and never compromise quality."
Beyond the formal sessions, the summit offered plenty of learning and networking opportunities, including a mastermind lunch, agent-led panel discussions on overcoming challenges, and the latest, most effective marketing strategies to try next year. "The best networking experience ever," raved another attendee. "It was the perfect mix of social, education, and information." Another attendee praised the more intimate feel of the summit: "I love that it is a small event so we can get to know people better and I loved the random table assignments for lunch." And a third said, "The Coldwell banker luxury events are way better than any other brokerage’s luxury events… and it’s not even a close second!"
The Beverly Hills Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Summit was made possible by the generous support of sponsors Concierge Auctions, the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, Luxury Presence, Homes & Estates, and Sauron.
