In a city synonymous with style, sexiness, and perpetual renewal, the recent Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Summit in Miami Beach stood out as a gathering of real estate’s brightest minds and most influential stars. W South Beach Hotel – hailed as “Miami’s scene-y celeb hotspot and Art Basel social center” – played host to this exclusive event on September 23 and 24, where a select group of Luxury Property Specialists from across the globe convened.

The summit was a whirlwind of networking, knowledge sharing, and strategy discussions on how best to move ahead in this new real estate climate. Attendees, hailing from 22 states and 6 countries, were treated to a curated experience that began with exclusive property tours around the Miami area and culminated in an opening reception at The Grove, the 200-seat indoor-outdoor restaurant located inside the W South Beach hotel.

"This event was a refreshing return to the fundamentals of what drives the core of luxury real estate,” said Michael Altneu, Vice President of Global Luxury for Coldwell Banker.

Day two kicked off with a morning general session featuring thought-provoking discussions on market trends, expert insights, and the evolving landscape of luxury. Altneu gave opening remarks and Coldwell Banker’s new Vice President of Marketing, Brandon Newman, presented his forward-looking vision for luxury.

“Our goal with this event was to foster open dialogue and peer-to-peer networking in a space where everyone felt empowered to discuss real-world, real-industry issues without the fluff,” says Altneu. “Based on the post-event feedback we received, Luxury Property Specialists came away feeling energized with new tactics and new connections.”

President and CEO, Coldwell Banker Realty, Kamini Lane, shared her key market takeaways and insights and excited the crowd with a teaser of some of the company’s latest luxury real estate figures. “While we’re not ready to release anything yet publicly, it’s a clear sign that Coldwell Banker is not just keeping up with the luxury real estate competition—we’re setting the pace,” said Altneu.

Many of the Luxury Property Specialists in attendance were also captivated by what Dr. Jessica Lautz, Deputy Chief Economist and Vice President of Research at NAR®, had to say about trends. Beyond the formal sessions, the summit offered ample opportunities for networking and collaboration. Mastermind lunches, panel discussions on overcoming challenges, and presentations on marketing strategies ensured that attendees left with a wealth of actionable insights. “We took a different approach with the mastermind lunch and placed everyone randomly at tables to encourage agents to step outside their comfort zones and build connections with colleagues that they may not necessarily know."

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many praised the event's engaging atmosphere as “impressive” and a “massive success.” The valuable networking opportunities and the “well-curated speakers” inspired them to “get psyched for the new market.” As one agent put it, "When our most successful agents speak from the heart and off-script, the wisdom and pearls flow!” Other agents found the intimacy of the smaller-scale summit more suitable for collaborations and one-on-ones, making it “the most effective networking event.” New connections even sparked referrals for some attendees once they got home.

As the sun set on Miami Beach, the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Summit concluded, leaving an indelible mark on those Luxury Property Specialists who attended. “The Miami summit emphasized the power of collective wisdom and the importance of continuous learning in this industry,” added Altneu. “It showed that there is power in learning together and leaning on each other.”

Altneu says he is looking forward to repeating the summit’s success in L.A. in November. 'We're planning to offer a fresh lineup of property tours and discussions,” he says. 'While the format may change, our main mission won’t. We want the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury program to be a catalyst for new connections, ideas, and sense of purpose for the luxury real estate community.” In other words, the Global Luxury team plans to deliver on both substance and style – and not necessarily in that order.

The next Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Summit, now sold out, will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles on November 13-14, 2024. Visit cbglevents.com for more information.
