Steve Mathes – Real Estate Professional | Coldwell Banker Realty - Gundaker

Real estate runs deep in the Mathes family. Steve Mathes began his career in 1978 after graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, working alongside his father, Julian, in commercial real estate. He soon transitioned into residential real estate with Coldwell Banker Realty - Gundaker, where he found his true calling.

With more than 40 years of experience and over $750 million in closed sales, Steve has earned a reputation as one of the region's most accomplished real estate professionals. His dedication to excellence has garnered him elite industry designations, including Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)-honors awarded to fewer than 5% of agents nationwide. In recognition of his sustained success and professionalism, Steve was inducted into the Coldwell Banker Hall of Fame in 1999.

Today, Steve and his son, Joe Mathes, consistently rank among the Top 10 agents across all of Coldwell Banker Realty - Gundaker.

Beyond real estate, Steve is deeply devoted to his family. He has been married to his wife, Julie, for 47 years, and together they raised two sons: Andy, a John Burroughs School '99 and Emory University '04 graduate, now in private equity in Atlanta; and Joe, his business partner in real estate!  Steve, a 1974 graduate of John Burroughs School has served on its Alumni Board, the Board of Temple Israel, as a Big Brother of the JCCA Big Brother/Big Sister Program, and volunteer coach in baseball, basketball, and soccer for both of his sons.

A proud alumnus of John Burroughs School (Class of '05) and the University of Wisconsin–Madison (Class of '09), Joe went on to earn his law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2014. Shortly thereafter, he joined his father, Steve, continuing the proud Mathes family tradition in real estate.
