Michael Onstead is the Director of Development Services for Coldwell Banker Realty in the Sacramento region. In his role, Onstead heads up the business unit that works with developers, new residential developments, and listings in downtown Sacramento and the greater Sacramento area. Coldwell Banker Realty is the largest residential brokerage company in the United States and, under its Global Luxury division, ranks #1 in multi-million-dollar sales nationally.
A highly successful real estate veteran for over two decades, Onstead joined Coldwell Banker Realty in 2011 to launch its development services division. Since joining the company, he has helped Coldwell Banker leverage its leadership in the existing home sales arena to expand its presence in the new home sales arena. His group has focused on high-quality, newly built urban homes ranging from single-family infill projects to multi-family, multi-story loft & condominium developments. He regularly is asked to consult various regional development organizations and developers on upcoming projects. He also continues to represent individual clients and ranks in the top 5% of local realtors.
He is a leader with the Sacramento Association of Realtors, having served on the Masters Club Committee and the Grievance Committee. He ended his term on Masters Club as President and currently is serving as vice-chair on the Grievance Committee. He was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Association of Realtors.
Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Realty, Onstead served as director of Lyon Real Estate's developer sales and services division. Over his career with Lyon, he was one of the Sacramento area's top-producing agents. In 2005 he helped launch Lyon's new home marketing division and helped grow the unit into one of the leaders in the Sacramento market.
A Northern California native, Onstead attended UCLA and now lives in Sacramento.
