About Me

A Boston College graduate, I had the rare opportunity to acquire extensive sales and marketing skills through a unique intensive immersion sales program at Digital Equipment Corporation, formerly the world's second largest technology company. This experience combined with my innate high-level communication and networking capabilities, persistence and strong working relationship within the Maui Real Estate community, allows me to provide you with the best information and advice to make informed decisions.

You will benefit from my strong negotiation and project management skills as well as my unsurpassed knowledge of the West Maui real estate market resulting in the highest level of client satisfaction. My tireless understanding of the needs of my clients is the cornerstone of my success. I will extend to you my tradition of expertise, professionalism and integrity to ensure that you are successful in fulfilling your Maui dream.

Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, my Dad was a bricklayer and my Mom a homemaker. Later the two formed their own real estate company from which they retired in their early 70s. They were the foundation of my strong work ethic. I graduated from Boston College with a business degree in accounting and finance. Like other traditional Northeasterners, I started my career working for a Fortune 500 company—Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).After 10 years of career growth culminating in managing DEC’s strategic major accounts, my desire to broaden my perspective led me to accepting an executive sales role with a software company in Los Angeles. The geographical location lent itself to brief getaways in Hawai’i. During one of those trips, I decided I had had enough of the corporate rat race. I wanted to explore another world waking up to warm, sunny weather, gorgeous beaches, breathtaking ocean views, rainbows and a better quality of life.

I seized the opportunity to take a 3-month sabbatical and moved to Maui in July 1988. My conservative upbringing rationalized that I would take this time to get paradise “out of my system” and then return to California. I never made it back!

Having purchased my first home in Boston at 23, real estate was a familiar business and a natural progression from my sales career in high tech. During my time on Maui, I have owned my own real estate company (twice) and acted on many exciting life and career expanding opportunities.

Professionally, my passion lies in establishing long-term client relationships as often my client’s needs change at different stages of their lives. My tireless understanding of the needs of my clients is the cornerstone of my success. I am happy to share what attracted me to Maui and how I have remained grounded here.

As Maui began to attract young families, I recognized the need for a private grade school and college prep school. My husband, Nam Le Viet, also an agent with Coldwell Banker Island Properties, and I are original founding members of Maui Preparatory Academy located on West Maui, that has become a magnet for young families. Since the first 36 students enrolled at Maui Prep in September 2005, the school has grown into a world-class college preparatory academy that embraces differences in culture, ethnicity, race, religion and economics, with strong academics, athletics, social values, and community commitment.  I am most proud of being a member of the Foundation Board of Maui Prep, a school whose students are from all over the world. We open our home, and grand Bösendorfer piano, to musicians who support the arts on Maui. Partnering with Jazz Maui and Art Education for Children Group - a non-profit organization that provides after school programs for kids, we have hosted numerous performers such as Arturo O’Farrill, a two times Afro-Cuban Jazz Grammy Award winner, Tommy James, Ictus Ban & Mike Lewis.  Mary Anne has recently been invited to join the Hawaii Community Foundation Maui Leadership Council and Maui Health Foundation.
