A new architectural statement has quietly arrived in Malibu. Tucked into the bluffs of Malibu’s Point Dume, this 1.7-acre estate delivers a fully immersive sensory experience as imagined by architects Jeffrey Allsbrook and Silvia Kuhle of Standard Architecture (the duo behind Jason Statham’s restored midcentury showpiece featured in Architectural Digest).

Known for their meditative approach to modernism, Allsbrook and Kuhle draw from the subtle drama of Southern California’s landscape: clean lines, shifting light, and seamless transitions between structure and setting. Here, the results are nothing short of transportive.

From the moment one steps inside, the tone is set. Towering cedar-clad ceilings hover over expansive white oak floors and gallery-worthy walls designed to showcase serious art. Views unfurl through Quantum Afromosia sliding doors—vanishing walls that dissolve into the surrounding landscape—while a layered material palette of classic Italian travertine, imported Calacatta and Mystery White marble provide tactile richness throughout.

At its heart, the house is built for connection. A sprawling indoor-outdoor entertaining level is anchored by a chef’s kitchen and a dining pavilion that opens to dual swimming pools, seven fire features, and a breezy cabana outfitted with a full outdoor bath and barbecue kitchen. A private guest house makes hosting effortless, while state-of-the-art Crestron and Lutron home automation brings a level of ease and control to daily life.

Despite its grand scale—8,000 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 8 baths, home theater, multiple lounge zones—the home maintains a sense of grounded warmth. That’s thanks in large part to the handcrafted details: custom white oak millwork, Cocoon fixtures, and Bocci lighting that acts as sculpture in its own right. Every space was designed to feel calm, open, and undeniably livable.

Then there’s the location. With private Riviera 2 gated access and a rare beach key to Little Dume, the property grants a privileged connection to one of Malibu’s most beloved stretches of sand. Just minutes away: Big Dume’s scenic nature preserve and a close-knit neighborhood with a timeless, laid-back elegance that only Point Dume can offer.

“It offers the ultimate in coastal living, where every moment feels like a vacation,” says listing agent Mica Belzberg of Coldwell Banker Realty in Malibu.

That sense of escape was the guiding principle behind the home’s oasis-like design. “The calm and tranquil environment created is that of a retreat—homeowners and visitors alike feel no need to leave,” explain Allsbrook and Kuhle.

Capturing the fleeting feeling of vacation in a permanent residence is no easy feat, but this home manages it with quiet mastery. Grounded in the landscape and intentional in every detail, it reflects a reverence for site, rhythm, and scale—qualities that place it among Malibu’s most exceptional new builds.
