Understanding Lakefront Lifestyles As a homeowner in both downtown Chicago and Michigan Harbor Country since 1978, Karen has developed extensive knowledge of these luxury markets. She is able to apply her knowledge of properties and lifestyles around the Illinois, Indiana and Michigan primary and secondary markets because she lives the lifestyle of the buyers and sellers she represents.
When it comes to Chicago, Karen serves clients in the Gold Coast, Streeterville, Old Town, River North and East Lincoln Park. In Michigan, she focuses on lakefront properties in Harbor Country, including New Buffalo, Lakeside, Union Pier and country estates east of the Lake and farms. In addition, she does business on the lakefront and in the country in northwest Indiana. Based on her own personal experiences, she finds ease in helping others transition from one side of the shore to the other, making the process seamless for her clients.

Unmatched Expertise in the Luxury Market Karen’s expertise comes from years of experience. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in English Literature from University of Michigan, she took her first job at the Latin School of Chicago. It wasn’t long before she found herself in sales, quickly leading her into the real estate industry.
After 20 years as a successful real estate agent, Karen was given the opportunity to open an office in Harbor Country with a previous company. Under her management and guidance, the office was the most successful in the Southwestern Michigan MLS based on closed sales volume. During her time in management, she was very involved in marketing and advertising and developed a network of media connections. These experiences are still very valuable to her today as she serves the lakefront luxury market, marketing listings to potential buyers.

Local Community Advocate When not focused on business, Karen volunteers in local community organizations and enjoys a variety of athletic activities. An avid runner, she has run the London marathon and has logged over 5,700 miles swimming at her local club’s pool and many more miles in pools all over the world and in Lake Michigan. No matter where she is, she stays active, visiting the local gym and is also an accomplished equestrian. She also raises dogs and spends time with friends and family whenever possible.
